Vietnam to Spend VND2.9T/ Year for Environmental Protection Activities by 2015
Vietnam will allocate 1 per cent of GDP, or VND2.9 trillion (US$170.6 million) a year for environmental protection activities from now up to 2015.
To use effectively the fund, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has built a plan to implement 36 priority programs under the national environment protection strategy.
However, the Southeast Asian country is estimated to need US$2.5 billion each year to deal with environmental pollution due to industrialization, according to a report released by the World Bank (WB). (Capital Labor)
