On May 07, TNT - the provider of integrated express services, announced the extension of its successful Asia Road Network (ARN) into Cambodia, adding more than 1,500 kilometres to an existing 6,000 kilometres running from Singapore to Vietnam to China. The move establishes TNT as the only express integrator to provide a fully-integrated, scheduled, door-to-door, express road service to and from the country’s capital in Phnom Penh. Via TNT’s road hub in the city, the ARN connects seamlessly to TNT’s nationwide domestic network across Cambodia and then on to Bangkok and Hochiminh City.

Air freight is restricted by the limited number of airlines operating in and out of Cambodia and the limited cargo-hold space available. Moreover, Cambodia’s congested international sea port means limited sailings.

Customers can also look forward to cost-savings of up to 30 per cent when they use TNT’s unique Asia Road Network as opposed to airlifting out of Cambodia. Transportation by road with TNT is also on average three times faster than shipping.

Mark van den Assem, Managing Director of TNT Vietnam, said “TNT’s expansion into the Indochina area including Cambodia is logical given the rapid growth of the region, in particular Vietnam. The connection from Vietnam to Cambodia and vice versa is a key development of innovative solutions to complement the Asia Road Network and meet our customers’ business needs in the region.”
