Vietnam's Auto & Spare Parts Imports Down 48.3 per cent in Jan-May
Vietnam is estimated to have spent US$707 million importing completely-built units (CBU) and auto spare parts in the first five months this year, down 48.3 per cent on-year, according to the latest report from the General Statistics Office.
If the real figure is close to the estimation, the import will be raised by extra 600 vehicles in volume and US$11 million in value compared with April with 4,400 units worth US$71 million, the GSO said.
Total spending on importing CBUs and automobile spare parts this month is estimated at US$202 million, a month on month rise of US$34 million.
In related news, the import spending of motorbikes in May cost US$46 million, up US$1 million from the previous month. (Capital Security)
