Vietnam Coal Consumption Down 12.8 per cent to 7.16M Tons in Jan-May
Vietnam’s coal sales at the domestic market totaled 7.16 million tons in the first five months of this year, down 12.8 per cent on year, the Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin).
Vietnam had produced 18.9 million tons of clean coal in January-May, down 10.3 per cent on year.
In the five-month period, the country exported 9.69 million tons of coal valued at US$479 million, down 18.8 per cent on year in volume and down 20.7 per cent on year in value.
Vinacomin targets coal sales will hit 42 million tons in the second quarter this year, including 22 million tons for exports.
This year, the group has targeted to produce 40 million tons of coal this year. (New Hanoi, Cafef)
