Vietnam Jan-Apr Exports to South Korea Fall 14.4 per cent to US$551.181M

Vietnam reportedly exported US$551.181 million worth of goods to South Korea in the first four months of this year, down 14.4 per cent on-year, said the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.
 
Crude oil was the country’s biggest cash earner with 271,119 tons worth US$101.095 million.
 
It was followed by seafood with US$78.738 million, garments and textiles with US$55.544 million, coal with 574,955 tons worth US$29.336 million, wood furniture with US$25.819 million, and footwear with US$19.065 million.
 
Among Vietnam’s key exports, electric and cable wires saw the highest value plunge of 83.6 per cent on-year to US$3.395 million, followed by coffee with 12,182 tons totaling US$18.877 million, down 24 per cent in volume and 43.4 per cent in value.
 
Vietnam spent US$1.773 billion on imports of products from South Korea, namely, pharmaceuticals, electronics, computers, iron and steel, fertilizer and plastics during the period.
 
During the time, Vietnam ran a huge trade deficit with South Korea at US$1.221 billion, said the ministry. (vinanet)
