EVN Nodded To Raise Registered Capital to VND110T
The government of Vietnam has approved a proposal by the state-run Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) to raise its registered capital to VND110 trillion (US$6.5 billion) from now onto the end of 2010.
EVN now has a registered capital of VND49,945 billion (US$2.955 billion).
The biggest power distributor in Vietnam was estimated to have injected VND12.62 trillion (US$742.35 million) in its investment projects in the first five months of this year, fulfilling 24 per cent of the full-year target.
The group put into operation nine power plants with a combined capacity of 2,736 MW in the five-month period.
EVN said it would pour nearly VND50 trillion (US$3.03 billion) into electricity generation projects this year. It has to date mobilized VND44.39 trillion (US$2.69 billion) and is actively seeking the rest of VND5.61 trillion (US$340 million). (Saigon Liberation)
