Vietnam Attaches Importance to Boost Relations with Austria: PM
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized that Vietnam always attaches a special importance to promoting relationships and multifaceted ties with Austria, he said while receiving the outgoing ambassador, Johannes Peterlik, in Hanoi on June 22.
PM Dung spoke highly of the Austrian ambassador’s great contributions, such as improving bilateral cooperation in economics, culture, education and science and technology during his service in Vietnam.
The PM was pleased that two-way trade had represented an average growth of 10 per cent-15 per cent annually, reaching approx US$250 million last year.
Austrian-funded ODA projects in health care, transportation and education are also being carried out effectively in Vietnam, Dung noted.
Dung hoped the ambassador would make further contributions to strengthening bilateral ties from his new position.
Ambassador Johannes Peterlik, in reply, said he would try his best to foster ties between the two countries. (News)
