Vietnam’s central city of Danang authorities began on July 19 construction of Rong Bridge at a total cost of VND1.498 billion (US$88.117 million).

The bridge, which was designed by the U.S.’s Louis Berger Group, will link Danang International Airport with coastal tourist sites over the Han River.

The construction of the six-lane bridge, which has a length of 666 meters and width of 37.5 meters, is scheduled for completion in 2013.

Thuan Phuoc Bridge costing VND1 trillion, the longest cable-stayed bridge in Vietnam, was also inaugurated on Sunday in the city after a six-year construction period. (Vietnam Economic Times)
