Over 43 per cent of Vietnam Corporate Leaders yet to Finish High School Education
As many as 43.3 per cent of Vietnamese corporate leaders do not have a senior high school graduation certificate, according to a recent survey of 63,000 businesses nationwide.
The survey also showed that just 2.99 per cent of the interviewed leaders have Master’s Degrees or higher-level certificates.
The leaders’ limited intellectual levels are a barrier for Vietnamese enterprises on the way to global integration, said Former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan, pointing out that this is why local firms often show their weak competitiveness.
He noted that the world is moving to use advanced and environmentally friendly technologies for production; therefore, Vietnamese companies need to improve themselves to catch up with the world’s trends.
Another survey recently conducted by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Welfare said that 51.3 per cent of Vietnamese enterprises have less than 10 employees, 44 per cent have between 10 and 200 laborers and just 1.43 per cent have between 200 and 300 workers.
In terms of capital, up to 42 per cent of local enterprises have capital below VND1 billion. Meanwhile, just 8.18 per cent of businesses have capital between VND5 billion and VND10 billion. (Vnexpress)
