Vietnam Southern Province OKs US$26.47M Petrol Base Depot Project

Authorities in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang have recently turned a green light to Mekong Petroleum Joint Stock Company to build a petroleum base depot worth VND450 billion (US$26.47 million) in the locality.
 
The depot named Soai rap – Petromekong will be located on a 42-hectare area at Cho hamlet in Vam Lang commune of Go Cong Dong district. 
 
The depot will have a storage capacity of 160,000 cubic meters once fully operational in 2012.
 
In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam spent US$3.41 billion to import 7.746 million metric tons of petroleum products, down 57 per cent in terms of value and 8.3 per cent in terms of volume compared with the same period in 2008. (Labor)
