Vietnam H1 Exports to EU Down 13.9 per cent to US$4.56B

Vietnam exported US$4.56 billion of goods to the EU in the first half this year, down 13.9 per cent on-year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
 
In June, Vietnam’s total export value to the bloc reached US$795 million, up 6 per cent from May and down 19 per cent from a year earlier.
 
During the first half, Vietnam’s main exports reporting on-year value decreases included footwear of US$989.7 million, down 19.62 per cent, wood furniture of US$267.4 million, down 37.09 per cent, plastic products of US$91.07 million, down 20.52 per cent, cashew nut of US$80.06 million, down 25.22 per cent and garments and textiles of US$743.13 million, down 3.18 per cent.
 
Meanwhile, other exports saw on-year increases in value, including coffee with US$552.1 million, up 3.05 per cent, handbags, valise and wallets with US$161.83 million, up 1.37 per cent and machines and equipment with US$68.2 million, up 585.04 per cent.
 
Vietnam had a trade surplus of US$3.8 billion with the EU during the time. (Vinanet)
