PetroVietnam, Petronas Affiliates Jointly Build 100,000-ton FPSO
PetroVietnam Technical Services JS Company (PTSC), an affiliate of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group PetroVietnam, and International Shipping Corp Sdn Bhd (MISC), a unit of Malaysian Oil and Gas Group Petronas, are jointly building a 100.047-ton floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) named FPSO Ruby II.
The unit will have a total investment of US$280 million and a maximum storage capacity of 645,000 barrels of oil and will be capable of receiving 39,000 barrels of oil a day and offloading 20,000 barrels an hour.
Vietnam Offshore Floating Terminal (VOFT), a joint venture between PTSC and MISC with PTSC holding a 60% stake, will manage the ship, which will be 244.8m long, 41.2m wide and 14.33m high.
Petronas Carigali Vietnam Limited Company won the contract to hire the FPSO for 8 years once the unit is fully operational in early 2010, PTSC said (Vietnam & World Economy, Investment)
