Vietnam Aims to Be Named among 70 World Leading IT Venues in 2015

Vietnam has set a goal to be named among the 70 leading IT and Telecommunications development venues in the world by 2015.
 
Under the IT & Telecommunications development draft plan for the 2015-2020 period that the Minister of Information and Communications Le Doan Hop revealed at the National Assembly meeting on August 16, all families will be able to have access to IT and internet services.
 
Many large-scale IT & telecommunications companies will be set up over the period, the plan added.
 
The draft plan has been submitted to the Government for approval.
 
Vietnam had 24.9 million new telephone subscribers in the first seven months of this year, raising the total number of phone subscribers in the country to 106.2 million, up 63.9% from a year ago.
 
Vietnam now ranks 92nd in the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) list of global ICT growth. (Youth, New Hanoi)
