HCM City Hosts 11th Int'l Shoes & Leather Exhibition Aug 27-29
The international shoes and leather exhibition 2009 is taking place in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of 80 producers from Vietnam and 15 foreign nations.
The exhibition is co-organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s International Fair and Exhibition Center (VIFEC) and the Hong Kong-based Top Repute Co., Ltd.
The Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (Lefaso) also conducted a forum on boosting exports of shoes and leather products on August 27.
The forum provided footwear makers with the sector’s orientations to increase exports by 2015 as well as trade barriers facing enterprises as shipping products to the EU, U.S., Japanese markets.
Lefaso Chairman Nguyen Duc Thuan said despite current difficulties, the footwear industry has set a growth target of 10%-15% in next two years.
