Vietnam Haiphong City Exports US$1.048B Goods in Jan-August
Vietnam’s northern seaport city of Haiphong shipped US$1.048 billion worth of goods abroad in the first eight months of this year, up 10% from a year earlier, meeting 59% of its full-year target, the Haiphong Industry and Trade Service said on its website.
Of the sum, state-owned firms contributed US$124.8 million, private firms contributed US$366 million and foreign-invested firms brought in US$557 million.
In August, the city exported US$155.9 million worth of goods, up 10% on-month.
Footwear remained the city’s biggest cash earner with US$250.3 million, followed by garments and textiles with US$100.7 million, electric wires and cables with US$80.9 million, plastic products with US$52.3 million and electronics with US$38.4 million. (haiphong.gov.vn, Vietnam Economic Times)
