Vietnam Hanoi, HCMC Need US$25B for 11 Railways

The two biggest economic hubs of Vietnam, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, estimate to need US$25 billion for 11 urban railway projects, said Deputy Head of the Vietnam Railway Administration Nguyen Van Doanh.
 
The capital city of Hanoi will build five urban railway routes and Ho Chi Minh City will build six routes, Doanh said
 
He added that the government will call investors to carry out the projects under the form of BOT (Building-Operation-Transfer).
 
The administration is preparing to start work on the Hanoi-Ha Dong urban railway by late year.
 
Vietnam will need around VND1,355 trillion (US$75.98 billion) for a master railway development plan by 2020 and a vision for further development through 2030, the Phap Luat Viet Nam newspaper said Monday. (HCM City Law)
