Brazil has decided to buy more pangasius fish from more than 60 Vietnamese enterprises, according to General Director of Tien Giang province-based Hung Vuong Joint Stock Company, Duong Ngoc Minh.

The decision came after the Brazilian authorities had finished their inspection at Vietnamese seafood processing faculties for food safety securities, Minh said.

Minh added that some local enterprises, including Hung Vuong JS Co. have already launched their first shipment to Brazilian markets with the export price equal to those exported to EU markets.

Brazil is expected to annually import about 40,000 tons of pangasius catfish from Vietnam. (Youth)
