Metalex Vietnam 2009: New Knowledge and Technologies Create New Bridges

This is the third time Metalex has been held in Vietnam. The Metalex Vietnam 2009 will be opened from October 8 to 10, 2009 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) with many featuring activities. Reporter Quang Dai of the Vietnam Business Forum had an interview with Ms. Nichapa Yoswee, Managing Director of Reed Tradex Company of Thailand, the organiser of the Metalex Vietnam.

Metalex Vietnam is the expansion of the largest ASEAN Metalex event annually held in Bangkok for the past 23 years. Metalex is known as a comprehensive event to introduce new machines and technologies. In the previous two fairs, Metalex Vietnam has won the trust of Vietnamese industrialists and commercialists and this is considered as a centre of new technologies and opportunities to witness, to study and to create business ties. In 2008, 6,147 specialists visited and 250 technological trademarks from 20 countries and territories attended the exhibition.

 

At Metalex Vietnam 2009, we expect to see some 500 global brands in machine tools, central machines, welding technology, moulds, conduits and pipes, measurements and handset devices from 25 countries and territories. The exhibition will display the latest patents for some 7,000 viewers, including trade agencies. To date, China, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand have booked four country spaces. The number is expected to increase. Metalex Vietnam 2009 will be incorporated with many featuring activities. Specifically, “Electronics Assembly 2009” will showcase electronic parts and components. “Robot Demonstration” will highlight extraordinary capacity of new industrial robots for the new level of manufacturing. “Hi-tech Zone” will feature innovations by international inventors from China, Japan, Taiwan and more. In general, Metalex Vietnam 2009 will bring us new knowledge, new technology and connection.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view new technological patents, meet and share technological secrets and new business strategies, seek trade partners and acquire new knowledge to spur sustainable growth development and success of Vietnamese enterprises.

The world has experienced an economic crisis but this is not the first time we have encountered such a woe. One of the lessons we have drawn from this crisis is we must still develop. Vietnam is one of the few nations to record a positive growth during the period of crisis. This fact strengthens our belief that Vietnam is a promising country whose growth will be further accelerating after the crisis while the machine manufacturing industry is an indispensable component for the next growing steps of Vietnam. Besides, the Vietnamese Government is applying investment friendly policies, attracting more foreign investors to the country. These are reasons for us to hold the Metalex Vietnam 2009.

In my opinion, a good and responsible exhibition organiser not only simply satisfies the needs of the locality (country) that hosts the exhibition but understands what the local (national) market is in need for and knows the sources of exhibits. Besides, the exhibition organiser must also introduce the latest products and technologies for the locality (country) to broaden their vision to the world and know the trends of the world.
