METRO Cash & Carry Provides Aid to Ketsana Hard Hit Area
METRO Cash & Carry Vietnam was the first company to send its first food and drinking water donation trucks to Danang, which was hard hit by Ketsana typhoon in late September. 5,000 cartons of instant noodle, 2,300 cartons of drinking water, 4,000 Kg of rice and 3,000 paper books were delivered to Hoa Vang District, Ngu Hanh Son District and to the Danang border army who would help hand these gifts to the fellows in the far away sea-border villages.
“We are committed to the safety of our employees, of our customers and of the local community. As soon as the city’s entrances were lifted up, our Store in Danang was opened and fully served the customers’ food requirements. METRO is always a part of Danang and its community”, Randy Guttery, MCC VN Managing Director, said to Danang Management Board in the donation trip on 2 October.
“Metro was the first company who phoned and asked me about the storm status in Danang to provide supports. METRO is also the first company visiting our Danang city and our Ngu Hanh Son district after the storm. Your today’s gifts not only have their own materialistic value but also express METRO’s caring and sharing to the fellow-citizens in the storm-flooded areas”, said Nguyen Nho Trung, Party Secretary of Ngu Hanh Son district.
