US$121 Billion Commercial Spending in Vietnam for 2008: Visa
Visa Inc. has released the annual global Commercial Consumption Expenditure (CCE) index, which estimates that global commercial spending grew to $90.2 trillion in 2008. The annual Visa CCE report provides standardized tracking of business and government spending globally and is recognized as an industry benchmark for measuring commercial spending.
Ms. Truong Minh Ha, country manager for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, Visa said, “The 2008 CCE index shows Asia Pacific accounted for US$23.4 trillion in commercial spending, an increase of 13.5 percent over 2007. It is encouraging that Vietnam experienced the fourth-fastest growth rate in Asia Pacific in 2008 with an estimated total CCE spend in 2008 of US$121 billion, 29.4 percent higher than 2007 (US$94 billion).”
The 2008 CCE is estimated to have grown at 10.9 percent from $81.3 trillion in 2007.
