New Ambassador Urged to Brighten Vietnam-UAE Ties

Deputy Prime Minister-Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem expects the United Arab Emirates’ ambassador to Vietnam Ahmed Ali Almualla to try his utmost to implement the signed agreements during PM Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to the country in Feb, the Vietnamese government said.
 
The Vietnamese leader made his statement while receiving the newly-accredited ambassador in Hanoi Oct 13.
 
Earlier in Feb, Vietnam and the UAE’s leaders reached an agreement to extend the bilateral cooperation by signing a series of pacts, including those involved in labor, investment encouragement and protection, tax double avoidance, the establishment of inter-governmental committee, the cooperation between the two foreign ministries, commerce and industry chambers, Khiem told the diplomat.
 
Deputy PM Khiem believed that Ambassador Ahmed Ali Almualla will contribute to realize the high-ranking leaders’ cooperation agreement during his term in Vietnam.    
 
Bilateral trade between Vietnam and the UAE jumped to US$550 million last year from US$67 million in 2002.
 
Vietnam expects UAE investors to eye to the highways, airports, seaports, oil refining industries. (Chinhphu.vn)
