Peru May Conduct Anti-dumping Probe into Vietnam's Shoes again
Peru’s National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Intellectual Property (Indecopi) has been once more asked to make an anti-dumping investigation into cloth-upper shoes originating from Vietnam.
The Latin American nation’s industry association alleged Oct 18 that cloth-upper shoes imported from Vietnam and China are causing damages to domestic makers.
Indecopi conducted the first anti-dumping probe into shoes imports from Vietnam and China in 2006 and another in July 2008.
In March this year, the institute imposed temporary anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese cloth-upper shoes, but decided to stop the penalty tax in June. (VNA, The People)
