Vietnam will require VND141 trillion (US$7.92 billion) to develop power transmission lines from 2011 through 2015.

Of the sum, the state-run National Power Transmission Corp is expected to mobilize only VND33 trillion (US$1.85 million) and will fall short of VND108 trillion.

Currently, a series of power transmission line projects in Vietnam are lagged behind their schedules due to capital shortfall, including the 500-kV Thuong Tin-Quang Ninh, 220-kV Tuy Hoa-Nha Trang and 220-kV Ban La-Vinh. (Trade & Industry)
