Vietnam Licenses 18 More Foreign Franchisers in Jan-Sept

The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade licensed an additional 18 foreign companies to conduct franchising activities in the country in the first nine months of this year.
 
Most of the firms are well-known trademarks in the world such as Malaysia’s Parkson, Germany’s Metro, the U.S.’s CBRE, Dilmak and KFC.
 
Total revenue of Vietnam’s franchise sector is forecast to grow 35% on-year to US$36.68 million next year.
 
The number of the franchised stores in the country will also expand 50% in 2010 compared to 890 shops in late June 2008. (VNS)
