Average House Area to Rise in 2010

According to the latest statistics released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction, in 2009, together with competent organs, the ministry has completed national housing inspection. The data shows the current house area in the country is some 1,596,000 square metres, reaching some 18.6 square metres per person.
 
Apart from developing social houses, provinces and cities also facilitated and encouraged companies to invest in building urban areas and apartments in accordance with specific conditions of each locality to meet the demand.
 
In 2010, the average house area in the country is targeted to be expanded to 19 square metres per person. Projects for developing houses for low-income earners, workers and poor people will be given priority.
