Vietnam Boosts Manufacturing Self-lifting Oilrigs

Vietnam has decided to invest VND113 billion ($5.95 million) in a national scientific project for research and manufacture of 60-meter self-lifting oilrigs.
 
This is the biggest-ever funding for a scientific project in Vietnam to date.
 
The Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam National Foundation for Science and Technology Development, the National Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), and PetroVietnam Marine Shipyard JSC (PV Shipyard) will carry out the 27-month project costing VND1.184 trillion.
 
PV Shipyard is building the national first 60-meter self-lifting oilrig costing over $180 million in the southern city of Vung Tau. (Investment)
