Vietnam Oil, Gas Reserves Estimated at 4.9B Tons of Oil Equivalent: PetroVietnam
The state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) estimates the country’s potential oil and gas reserves at between 4.1 billion and 4.9 billion tons of oil equivalent, including 1.3 billion tons of proven reserves.
Earlier, PetroVietnam Chairman Dinh La Thang said the national current estimated oil reserves are sufficient for the domestic production for next three decades.
PetroVietnam targets to raise its oil equivalent reserves by between 175 million and 225 million tons in the next five years from the accumulated figure of 317 million tons by late May.
The group expects to produce 90.5 million tons of crude oil and 51.6 billion tons of natural gas as well as supply 49 billion cubic meters of dry natural gas through 2015. (PVN)
