Vietnam, WB to Review 35-year Cooperation

The Government Office has issued Document No. 4992/VPCP-QHQT on the government’s approval for the organisation of a conference in the coastal city of Nha Trang in the southern province of Khanh Hoa in the third quarter of 2011 to evaluate 35 years of cooperation between Vietnam and the World Bank (WB).
 
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung assigned the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) to work with ministries, agencies and localities to host the conference and sideline forums and establish an assessment group led by a Deputy Governor of the State Bank. This assessment group will comprise of representatives from the SBV, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the Government Office, and other relevant ministries and agencies and the WB, and will map out a detailed organization plan.
 
The SBV, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and the MPI, will hold different side seminars seeking measures to raise the efficiency of public-private-partnership (PPP) projects to seek concessional loans from the International Development Association (IDA) and commercial loans from International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) (both are World Bank units) in the coming time.
