Vietnam is estimated to have earned $11.172 billion from garment and textile exports this year, rising 23.2% from a year earlier, the General Statistic Office said.

In December, domestic companies are estimated to have exported $1.15 billion worth of the products from the revised figure of $982 million in November, the office added.

The textile and garment industry is among the country's top foreign currency earners, contributing about one fifth of Vietnam's total export turnover every year.

Vietnam targets to raise its export revenues by 30% in 2011 and expects to earn $19 billion by 2015 and $25 billion by 2020. (GSO)
