EMO Hannover 2011 – the leading global trade show for metalworking – will once again take place in Germany from 19 to 24 September 2011. International manufacturing technology vendors and solution providers will present "More than machine tools" at EMO Hannover, the industry’s crowning event.
Hannover is where executives, managers and buyers from each and every user industry get together to talk business with producers of manufacturing technology from around the world.
"EMO Hannover excels in terms of its international scope and appeal, the comprehensive range of the products and services on offer, its role as an innovation driver and the high caliber of its visitors and exhibitors," commented Christoph Miller, Managing Director EMO Hannover at the German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW) – the organization responsible for staging EMO – at a January press conference in Hanoi. Miller is convinced that the metalworking industry’s pivotal forum will make “a major contribution to a market upswing in 2011”, triggering investment and demonstrating that the profound economic slump in 2009 and 2010 is finally behind us.
No other major trade show in the triad markets draws more international visitors and exhibitors than EMO Hannover. At the last event in 2007, fully one-third of its 166,500 attendees came from outside Germany. On the exhibitor side, each and every machine tool producing nation is represented. The 2,100 companies that participated in 2007 came from 42 countries; over 60 percent were from countries other than Germany.
EMO attracts buyers and decision-makers from around the world
EMO presents the full scope of current developments in manufacturing technology, from single machines to production systems and complete manufacturing solutions. The show's main focus is on cutting and forming machine tools, manufacturing systems, precision tools, measurement technology, automated material flow, CA technologies, control and drive engineering and accessories.
This appeals to professionals from every corner of the world. "A single visit gives them a complete overview. They meet all the important players in the industry at one time and place, and can directly compare what all the relevant competitors have to offer," added Miller. This comprehensive range of products and services was featured at the last EMO Hannover on over 180,000 square meters of net exhibition space, which corresponds to a gross area of 291,900 square meters. The show caters closely to the needs of solution-seeking professionals while solely highlighting the expertise on offer by machine tool manufacturers. Clear-cut display categories by machine type make it easy for visitors to find exactly what they are looking for.
Since its founding in 1975, EMO Hannover has been the most important showcase for innovative manufacturing technology. With steadily growing international competition and increasingly short innovation cycles, in the international metalworking tradeshow landscape EMO Hannover has retained its status as the prime location at which to unveil new technology.
EMO Hannover boosts investment
EMO boasts visitors and exhibitors of the highest possible quality. As the leading global trade show for metalworking, it reaches out to the entire industry. Its attendees are from all important user sectors, including the automotive and aerospace industries, mechanical and plant engineering, electrical engineering, precision engineering and optics, the metal processing industry and medical technology.
EMO visitors primarily consist of decision-makers who come with the investment plans. "Our visitor survey shows that four-fifths of all EMO visitors play a major role in their companies’ purchasing decisions," said Christoph Miller. For non-German visitors, this group accounts for as much as 86 percent. As a result, a total order volume of over 4 billion euros was generated at EMO Hannover 2007, as well as momentum lasting far beyond the actual run of the show: In fact, Q4 2007 showed a stronger rise in international machine tool orders than any other period of the ongoing upswing.
