98.82 Pct of Communes Need Young Intellect
On January 26, 2011, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung signed Decision No. 170/QD-TTg to approve the pilot project to recruit 600 outstanding young intellects, with university degrees or higher, to hold the vice chair positions in Commune People’s Committee in 62 recognised poor districts.
According to a survey, 98.82 % of communes in poor districts want to use voluntary young intellects and request competent authorities to assign them to support developing economy and society, and help farmers to expand production, improve material and spiritual life, and quickly and sustainably reduce poverty.
The project will be carried out in 600 out of 894 communes in 62 poor districts and each chosen commune will be offered one young intellect as vice chair of People’s Committee.
The project is divided into two stages. The first stage (2011-2012) will be executed in the five provinces of Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Nghe An, Quang Ngai and Kon Tum. The second phase (from 2013) will be implemented in remaining communes.
