SBV Governor Meets with ADB President

Governor Nguyen Van Giau of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr.Haruhiko Kuroda, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and his delegation in Hanoi on February 28. The meeting was attended by representatives from several ministries and agencies, and leaders of various SBV departments.
 
Following his warm greetings, Governor Nguyen Van Giau informed his guests of the progress of preparation for the 44th ADB Annual Meeting to be held in Vietnam in upcoming May. He said that the preparation has been undertaken urgently and considerately in line with the agreement between the host country and the ADB.
 
For his part, President Haruhiko Kuroda highly appreciated Vietnam’s preparation for the Meeting and hoped that the Meeting would be a good opportunity for Vietnam to publicize its new advancements to the world after becoming a middle income nation.
 
Mr.Haruhiko Kuroda added that the delegation had visited the National Convention Center and other facilities for this Meeting, and expressed his pleasure to see the progress of preparatory work for the Meeting. He said he believed that with the close collaboration of the stake holders, the 44th ADB Annual Meeting will surely be successful. (SBV)
