3,000 Delegates to Attend ADB 44th Annual Meeting
The Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) 44th annual meeting will be held from May 3-6, 2010 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Some 3,000 participants, including government leaders, central bank governors and finance ministers, as well as representatives from the private sector, academia, the media and civil society will attend the event.
The 2011 annual meeting will focus on investment in Vietnam, regional integration, infrastructure development and protection of the poorest through private sector growth. A major highlight of the meeting will be a discussion on what Asia needs to do to drive transformation, manage risks and sustain its success through 2050. The meeting will also include country presentations on Indonesia, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Bangladesh and East Timor.
ADB's annual meeting allows Governors from ADB member countries to provide guidance to ADB administrative, financial, and operational directions. The meeting also provides opportunities for member governments to interact with ADB staff, nongovernment organisations, media, and representatives of observer countries, international organisations, academia and the private sector.
