IDICO: Investment for Development

Since its inception on November 7, 2000, IDICO has always exerted its resources on developing important projects of the nation. Up to now, IDICO has carried out 70 investment projects in different fields like industrial parks, energy, transportation and real estate. In particular, industrial park development is a spearhead investment field.

 

The first success of IDICO was the construction of the 100-ha A Tuy Ha Industrial Park in Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province; now a well-known brand among industrial cities in the country.

 

From this success, IDICO and its member companies have confidently invested in, built, managed and operated more than 20 industrial parks with a combined area of over 10,000 ha and total investment capital of VND10 trillion. The presence of IDICO-invested industrial zones has contributed significantly to industrial development, economic restructuring, infrastructure development, and employment creation in localities.

 

Following the resounding success with many industrial parks throughout the nation, in August 2006, IDICO embarked on the construction of the 572-ha Que Vo Industrial Park 2. The first phase of this project is being invested by IDICO, with synchronous infrastructure, a 50-metre 4-lane trunk road, 35KVA power transmission lines, a water plant with a daily capacity of 20,000 cubic metres, a wastewater treatment plant with a daily capacity of 8,000 cubic metres, telecom and internet systems, and bonded warehouses for factories locating in the industrial park. At present, four investors are building factories in the park. Two facilities are expected to start operation in the third quarter of 2011. Mr Nguyen Quoc Vinh, Director of IDICO Que Vo Urban and Industrial Zone Investment Development Joint Stock Company, a member of IDICO Corp, said: "We have chosen Bac Ninh province to invest because it lies on the largest northern economic growth triangle and has favourable geographic and traffic advantages. Furthermore, with a professional administrative system and responsible bureaucratic system, all difficulties facing companies are solved quickly. Authorities, especially the provincial government, always facilitate and support companies to do business in Bac Ninh province.”

To attract investors, IDICO first defines that it must build good and synchronous infrastructure like power lines, water supply plants and wastewater treatment systems, it must share with investors, and coordinate with authorities to provide maximum support for investors. These activities have strengthened investor confidence in the business and investment environment in IDICO industrial parks, creating spill-over effects and positive impacts among new investors.

 

Besides, IDICO focuses on investment promotion activities. The corporation regularly coordinates with Vietnamese organs in foreign countries and foreign organs in Vietnam to seek foreign investors, especially trans-national corporations with powerful capacity and technology in Europe, North America and other developed nations. The corporation introduces industrial development potential and investment preference policies to investors and provides the best conditions for them to carry out their projects in its industrial parks.

 

IDICO always tries its best to create favourable conditions for investors to apply for business certificates and land use rights, and operate efficiently. The corporation advises investors to expand production development investment.
