Vissan-branded products have become popular meals of Vietnamese families. “Vissan has been voted among Vietnam’s high-quality products for 15 consecutive years. Vissan not only focuses on improving product quality, but also developing a dynamic business strategy for the benefit of customers,” said Vissan’s General Director Van Duc Muoi.
Affirming the leading status
Vissan pioneers in operation of a closed process from breeding, production to business of fresh and frozen animal meat food, as well as meat processing. It always pays attention to using sci-tech achievements in agriculture and bio-technology to improve food safety for public health. The company’s products have been presented with ISO/IEC 17025; ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP certificates. The material source is strictly checked before being used for processing food and finished products are only brought into the market after being certified for quality.
To date, the firm has built a nationwide distribution network, including retail shops and markets such as domestically-invested Saigon Co-op, MaxiMart, CitiMart and Vinatex and foreign-invested supermarkets like Metro Cash & Carry and Lotte, as well as joint ventures. Not only widely consumed in the local market, its products are present at many foreign countries, including Eastern Europe and Asian regions.
Vissan has created a chain of “clean and green” products with major investments for environmentally-friendly production process. The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has selected the company as one local enterprise participating in the food price stabilisation campaign for many years. This is the municipal committee’s campaign designed for businesses which have sustainable capacity for clean and green products.
With the working motto of ensuring food safety for customer benefit, Vissan has received the title of Vietnamese high-quality, voted by consumers for 15 consecutive years. It is among the 500 biggest Vietnamese businesses. The company has also won other prizes such as Hard Trademarks; Vietnam Golden Star Award and other certificates.
Cooperation for development
Recently, Vissan signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Saigon Trading Group (Satra), Dong Nai Food Industrial Corporation (Dofico) and Proconco Producing Animal Feeds Joint Stock Company (Proconco) on setting up a safe food supply network to fully take advantage of the market, capital and technology areas. The cooperation will help build and develop a supply chain from breeding farm, slaughtering system and processing-supply of high-quality pork which ensures food safety in line with international standards using modern technology. This is also very important to develop the regional animal feed sector when Vietnam is a WTO member.
General Director Muoi noted, “The cooperation will contribute to form outlets for farmers and stabilise food prices in the domestic market. Additionally, this follows the Politburo’s instruction on the campaign “Vietnamese people use Vietnamese products.”
Striving to confirm position in the region and the world
Gaining confidence of consumers over the past 40 years, Vissan targets to become Vietnam’s leading food firm by 2020, with the trademark known in the region and the world.
During the 2010-2015 period, the company will focus on completing the construction of a food processing industrial complex in Ben Luc District, Long An Province. The complex, expected to be the top one in Vietnam, aims to provide many new and safe products for consumers with a big market share in the domestic food sector.
The company’s commercial pork products have clear origin and meet food safety regulations. Vissan’s working motto is bringing clean products from farms to the meal with clear origin. The firm has moved Go Sao Pig Breeding Enterprise and built a breeding area to provide safe and fresh materials for its food production and processing activities. Vissan has invested in joint ventures and regional cooperation models on “High-quality and safe pig breeding” to help stabilize food prices. This is the way for the company to boost productivity and raise product quality in order to sharpen its competitiveness.
