Lac Hong Vien Cemetery Park (Ky Son district, Hoa Binh province) comes as a revolution, a new concept of a cemetery park in Vietnam. Global Trade and Investment Joint Stock Company, the project developer, expected it would be the most beautiful cemetery park in Vietnam and one of the top Asian cemetery parks. Vietnam Business Forum interviewed Mr Tran Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of the company, to learn about the project. Do Ngoc reports.
So far, investment into cemetery parks in Vietnam has been considered risky. What do you think about this?
Initiating the project, we carefully studied and made a thorough survey about cemetery parks in Vietnam and modern cemetery models in Singapore, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Hong Kong (China), China, etc. They have abundant capital but not a convenient location or a large area like Lac Hong Vien. Lac Hong Vien has advantages, such as: absolute separation from residential areas; location with 9 hills on total area of 98 hectares; being on charming, sacred land, etc, which all make up a favourable location. We are confident in the strength of these advantages, along with the comprehensive, modern planning, construction and operation applied here. Lac Hong Vien has separate function-based work items such as areas for individual graves, couple graves, family tombs (small and medium scale tombs, descent tombs) etc., with different designs which still fit the overall design of the cemetery. Grave designs must be uniform in terms of fence, height and maximum density.
Moreover, given the real demand of Hanoi residents, with Van Dien cemetery being overloaded and closing first burial service, and many other cemeteries lacking good planning, design, aesthetics and environmental sustainability, we’re confident our investment in this project will be commercially successful. However, we ensure success in human values with all the passion and effort we put in this project.
Beside online funeral repast or grave land instalments, do you have any other special services?
It is difficult for those studying, working abroad or going on business trips far from Hanoi to care for relatives’ graves or hold funeral repast, and worship on the first or fifteenth of the lunar month. Offering a perfect service of online funeral repast is for such people’s inner peace. It is also the first such service in the world. To request the Online funeral repast service, customers have to sign in the website
www.lachongvien.vn at module “Cung gio Online” (“Online Funeral Repast”), choose their product and service package and enter the time of rites. Lac Hong Vien’s logistics staff will implement services and products and conduct rites exactly at the time and date at the customers’ grave. Then the customers will be sent an email with attached video and images about the implementation of registered services.
Instalment payment for grave land is to meet demand of those of working age or old people without relatives or income. It seems that this service is expected by many people. It is the first time this service has been provided in Vietnam, following implementation in Italy. In the coming time, there will be body preparation services, something new in Vietnamese spiritual tradition. It is expected that people will have makeup and be well-dressed before coming to their ancestors. The company’s employees will be enrolled in a training course on body preparation in Taiwan. Offering services such as praying for peace and requiem, body preservation, exhumation, burial services, and visiting, the company wants to be seen by their trusting customers not only for its well designed, modern and environmentally friendly cemetery, but also for the fulfilment of their legitimate aspirations.
Cemetery construction greatly impacts the environment. How have you addressed this issue?
At present, we have an agreement on using the latest technology of water burying. It uses water to speed up the decaying process. The environmental impact is reduced to just 30 percent compared to cremation. Another advantage is the ashes will be more beautiful, white and smooth. This technology originated in Britain, and has been applied in some American states, Britain and Germany.
Lac Hong Vien will be the most beautiful cemetery park in Vietnam with standard planning and design concerning all landscape and environmental factors. This project is hoped to contribute to environmental protection, as well as sustainable development of urban planning in Vietnam.
