In 2006, R.K Marble Vietnam Ltd. was established by the Investment Licence issued by People’s Committee of Yen Bai Province. With tireless efforts, it has grown to be the biggest and the most professional white marble company in Vietnam. “Together with enhancing the profit of business, we always aim to improve living standards of local employees, and contributing more and more to the State Budget is one of our important targets,” said General Director Kamal Kumar Sogani with Vietnam Business Forum. Please tell us about R.K Marble Vietnam Company, what have been the highlights in the process of your business development in Vietnam so far?
R.K Group (India) took its first steps searching for business opportunities in Vietnam in August 2005. In 2006, R.K Marble Vietnam Ltd. was established by the Investment Licence issued by People’s Committee of Yen Bai Province. In November 2008, our company was granted the first Mining Licence by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Expansion Mining Licence in June 2011. We started our mining operation in November 2008, together with the construction of basic infrastructure, internal roads, land compensation and clearance.
In 2009, we started the construction of processing plants and at present, our two processing plants for marble slabs and tiles are in working condition. Both our quarry and factories are powered by modern machinery and equipment imported from Italy, India, Belgium and Japan. Even now and in the future, we still continue our investment for both mining and processing machinery.
Currently, we have recruited about 300 local people who used to be farmers and are now trained to be fully skilled workers in an industrial working environment. Most of our products like Blocks, Tiles and Slabs are exported to countries all over the world such as: Italy, France, USA, India, Turkmenistan, Tanzania, Iran, Dubai UAE, Panama, etc.

Could you talk about the biggest advantage of RK Marble Company as an affirmation of its brand value in Vietnam's market?
R.K Group is multinational company. We have been investing not only in India but also in Turkey and Vietnam, in a variety of business scopes. R.K. Marble Group is the world’s largest producer of marble and as a subsidiary of R.K Group, R.K Vietnam inherits the worldwide market network of its parent company. Moreover, thanks to some unique quality features of the white marble in Yen Bai province, R.K Marble Vietnam has the chance to develop and expand to new markets and new customers of our own. Thanks to all of these advantages, the R.K Marble brand is day by day being strengthened and improved.
Would you please share about the orientation of RK Marble Vietnam in 2012?
In 2012, our company will continue to invest in construction works together with machinery and equipment for both mining and processing operations to improve productivity and output. We also plan to construct one Calcium Carbonate Powder Plant in 2012 to utilize natural resources effectively and to diversify our products. Besides, we will continue to develop and expand the market to meet domestic and overseas demand for white marble.
Together with enhancing our business profit, we always aim to improve living standards of local employees, and contributing more and more to the State Budget is one of our important targets.
