Low-paid migrant workers often cherish the dream of living in their own houses, but most of them cannot make that dream come true. Therefore, Tran Quoc Luat, General Director of Tran Quoc Luat Group and President of Dat Thu Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company, is determined to create a chance for those people to settle down. Besides, Tran Quoc Luat Group is a reputable brand name in trading automobile and spare parts.
From the dream of building houses for low-income earners ...
Everyone has the right to dream, and the dream of having a house to live in is always burning in the minds of poor migrants. Tran Quoc Luat decided to invest in this market niche. His approach not only provides the opportunity for low-income earners to make their dream come true, but also helps him get rich. Bearing this in mind, in 2006, he started to invest in the real estate market. To date, Tran Quoc Luat Group has built 16 residential areas in Thuan An and Di An districts, Binh Duong province. Each residence covers 2 ha on average. Mr Luat said, “Although low-priced real estate business is not highly profitable, transactions are very quick and great in number. For me, the most important thing is to see that the poor have houses to settle down.” With his continuous effort and initial success, businessman Tran Quoc Luat was awarded a "Vietnam Golden Star 2011” Medal on the occasion of the Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day on October 13.
However, according to Mr Nguyen Van Bang, Deputy General Director of Tran Quoc Luat Group, the difficulty in building houses for low-income people is now a legal issue. The price for changing the purpose of land use remains too high, while developers are less interested in this sector and regulations on public utilities for such housing projects remain absent. Thus, according to Mr Bang, to facilitate companies to build houses for low-income earners, State support, particularly the authorities of Binh Duong province, is essential.
Mr Luat is also cherishing the dream of having a 10-ha land plot to build a residential zone for low-income earners. This place will also have supermarkets selling “rejected” export products. He hopes this project will be kicked off in December 2011.
... to aspirations for a “Car Hospital"
The competition on the automobile market is extremely fierce and customers are always confused when choosing a four-wheeler. They are also very concerned about after-sales services like parts replacement and maintenance. Knowing this, Quoc Luat Auto was set up to meet the customer requirements.
Mr Luat said: "At present, Tran Quoc Luat Group has embarked on the largest automobile service centre in southern Vietnam. This is the largest "foreign automobile hospital" which costs some US$5 million for construction. The facility will repair, maintain and restore cars in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Binh Duong. Once in operation, the car hospital will provide the best products and services for customers.
Remarking on the development orientation, Mr Luat said: “Automobile repair and maintenance requires high-quality human resources. Thus, Tran Quoc Luat Group will focus on human resource development and regard human factors as the key to unlock the door to success. This is a solid foundation for Tran Quoc Luat Group to reach the horizon.”
