Soldier’s Calibre on Economic Front

Phu Loc Investment and Construction Group Joint Stock Company was set up in 1993 by mostly returned soldiers. Vietnamese soldiers, colloquially called Uncle Ho’s soldiers, are famous for fearing no hardships and difficulties, possessing determinations to push back negativities, and pioneering in the cause of national construction. Mr Lai Quoc Toan said “Our employees are mainly retired soldiers. Many used to hold very high ranks in the army like colonel, lieutenant colonel, general captain and lieutenant. When they stand on economic front, they are very industrious, eager to work and indefatigable. They can lay bricks, and operate excavators and bulldozers on construction sites.”

 

Since its inception, the company has determined to build its name on every project. Each project is compared to a battle and the company is obliged to win and minimise losses. Hence, Phu Loc has won the absolute trust of customers. A series of small and large projects in Lang Son and neighbouring provinces are built by Phu Loc. In 2002, the company went public - a milestone in its development history as it changed both quality and scale. The firm also produces construction materials like adobe bricks. Currently, Phu Loc is carrying out many key projects at provincial and national levels like the 10-ha Phu Loc New Urban Area.

 

Since its establishment, the company has clearly defined the roles of Party organisation throughout its operations. The Party Committee of the company is always rated outstanding in Lang Son province. Each Party member is, at all times, aware of his roles and missions. They are pioneers in all production and business activities, examples for next-generation staffs to follow. These achievements are resulted from right scientific guideline for operations of the Party Committee and activities of Party cadres. In addition to fostering political, ideological, moral and lifestyle education, the Party Committee always encourages members to review, to self-criticise, and to be self-aware of attitude, knowledge and professional skills. The Party Committee also develops the membership by adding young cadres. Each year, the committee admits one or two new Party members. With its right operating guideline, the Party Committee of Phu Loc Investment and Construction Group Joint Stock Company is expanding its scale and influence to be a leading light in Lang Son province.
