The four-year period is not long but it is the last year of a Japanese firm to use the philosophy: “how many trees used from the nature, how many trees will be planted to ensure pure environment” in Vietnam.
Since 2009, YANAGI Products Co.,Ltd – a customer using chopsticks and toothpicks made of timber fat and snowbell, has successfully implemented the afforestation in some northern provinces of Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho and Bac Kan. Accordingly, the company has financed US$15,000 to grow 80,000 seeding/year in Binh Trung commune, Cho Don district, Bac Kan province. These localities have workshops to produce chopsticks and toothpicks from natural wood to provide the company. As a user of the natural resources, YANAGI Products Co.,Ltd not only supports afforestation to protect the environment, but also wants to educate afforestation to Japanese customers via these activities in order to maintain and develop renewable activities and improve environment protections in Vietnam.

Staff of YANAGI Products Co., Ltd and students at a primary school in Binh Trung commune, Cho Don district, Bac Can province are joining afforestation

It can be said that what did by the Japanese in their country are admired by the world, the afforestation of the Japanese in Vietnam is voluntary, uninterested and respected. They have strived to raise awareness of environment pollution via the funding and join the environment projects. It is high time the enterprises showed social responsibility sustainably.
