Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance Demonstrates Superior Performance at Lower Cost
Oracle recently proved its superiority in performance, best-in-class efficiency, and ease of manageability against competitors at lower TCO. At less than half the price, Oracle’s SUN ZFS Storage Appliance outclassed IBM on SPC-2 Benchmark Performance Results and NetApp on SPECsfs2008 NFS Benchmark.
In the test, Sun ZFS Storage 7420 appliance beat IBM’s highest current SPC-2 Result, based on SPC-2 throughput performance. Notably, Oracle’s Sun ZFS Storage Appliance’s SPC-2 MBPS performance was 242-percent higher throughput than the IBM V7000 and 7.7x better price-performance than IBM DS8800.
The SPC-2 benchmark consists of three distinct workloads, namely, file processing, large database queries, and video on demand to demonstrate performance during execution of business critical applications.
In the same way, Oracle beat all current NetApp SPECsfs2008 NFS benchmarks results with new enhancements to Sun ZFS Storage and set two-node world record.
With its new capabilities, Sun ZFS Storage can deliver even more compelling performance and cost-savings for customers seeking optimization with Oracle software.
