Prime Minister's Meeting with Enterprises: Focusing on Enterprise Effectiveness and Competitiveness

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will liaise with the Government Office, the Steering Board on Enterprise Renewal and Development and the Prime Minister's Study Board to organise a meeting between the prime minister and enterprises in Hanoi on October 13 and 14.

Between 450 and 500 representatives, who are officials from the Government Office, relevant ministries and agencies, the Steering Board on Enterprise Renewal and Development, the Prime Minister's Study Board, the National Assembly Economic and Budgetary Committee and the Central Economic Commission, along with representatives from local and foreign enterprises and owners of farms and co-operatives will attend the meeting. The meeting will concentrate on improving the effectiveness and competitiveness of enterprises in preparation for regional and international integration. It will also discuss the awareness and action of Governmental agencies, the business community, business associations and enterprises. Attendees will discuss concrete measures to create a favourable business environment to help enterprises overcome difficulties, affirming their determination to restructure to be successful in international integration.

In preparation for the important event, VCCI is conducting surveys of enterprises' proposals for the improvement of the business environment and organising seminars on competitiveness and administrative procedures and policies, as well as programmes on developing Vietnamese entrepreneurial skills. The VCCI will organise some other activities during the 'Vietnamese enterprise and entrepreneur week' held in conjunction with the meeting, such as seminars and symposiums on sustainable development and forums about integration, trade and investment promotion in major markets, as well as exchange meetings with outstanding women entrepreneurs.
