VCCI President Receives UK Ambassador to Vietnam
The President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Vu Tien Loc received Mr. Robert Gordon, UK Ambassador to Vietnam, on the morning of August 25, 2004 at VCCI headquarters in Hanoi.
At the meeting, the Ambassador highlighted industries where the two countries could build cooperative relations in the fields of aviation and telecommunications, which are key industries in the UK, as well as in the fields of finance, insurance, and equitisation of enterprises. He also hoped that VCCI, with its excellent reputation in the business community, can work to create favourable conditions for British enterprises when investing in Vietnam.
The VCCI President proposed collaboration between VCCI and the British Embassy in Vietnam in organising a workshop on the finance market in Vietnam. Mr. Loc said Vietnam was facing a lack of medium and high-ranking management officers, and sought Britain’s assistance in training staff for these roles.
Measures to further boost cooperation between the two countries’ business communities were also discussed.
