Enterprises Call For More Diplomatic Assistance

Vietnamese enterprises and business associations are calling on State representative organizations abroad to act more positively and effectively to assist them in establishing economic relations with foreign partners. The call was raised at a seminar on Business Associations with Diplomatic Works in Service for Economic Purposes held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi on August 25.

Almost all business associations stressed the need of foreign market information and assistance to expand international business relations.

Many enterprises have not yet been able to penetrate promising markets, especially the United States and Europe, said Chairman of Vietnam Gold Traders Association Hoang The Ngu.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of Vietnam Tourism Association Le Dai Tam pointed out a lack of alliance between Vietnam’s tourism and large international tourist companies, and asked for more assistance from Vietnamese diplomatic organisations in promoting Vietnam’s image to the world.

Dr. Tran Tuan Anh, Vietnamese Consul General to San Francisco (United States), introduced a Fund to assist diplomatic activities for economic purposes such as accelerating foreign economic relations and collecting economic, technological and scientific information.

There are around 140,000 enterprises with nearly 200 associations in Vietnam. About 20,000 new enterprises are established annually. Vietnam now has 77 representative organisations around the world.
