Given the equable beauty, gentle voice and sociability, plus the youth, energy and dynamism emanated from the face, smile and stylish and elegant appearance, she is easily mistaken for those working in the art field. That was the first impression when Vietnam Business Forum had an interview with Ms Do Thi Kim Loan, Director General of Sao Nam Flooring Co., Ltd cum Vice President of Binh Duong Furniture Association. Can you share about the achievements that Sao Nam has gained in recent years?
In the past year, Sao Nam has continuously invested into equipment upgrading, technology application and always given first priority to the reputation and quality etc. Thus, the company has quickly asserted its firm position in both national and international markets.
Being a product with natural materials, Sao Nam flooring is durable, steady, waterproof, suffers no termite, warp, shrinkage, or scratch, being cool in summer and warm in winter to ensure the environment suits the consumers’ health and comfort.
At present, all wooden flooring products distributed by Sao Nam are manufactured with the modern technology production line of Germany and strictly monitored with European quality standards. Notably, Sao Nam has only used material timber sawn and dried in the United States/Europe; with certificates of FSC, PEFC, Verified Sustainable Appalachian Hardwood and Well managed forests. Moreover, the selected high quality raw materials such as WBP plywood (CARB, FSC, E1-E0), Glue (E0), Veneer, Varnish, UV, Oil from Japan, Germany and the United States are harmless and user-friendly. Moreover, they can be recycled, following the standards of environmental protection. Given the varied colors and veins, durability, Sao Nam flooring products have not only conquered the domestic users but also been exported to demanding markets such as Europe, Japan, France, the United Kingdom, the United States etc and greatly received by local consumers with annual export turnover of more than US$3.1 million.
In the current hard context, what measures has Sao Nam prepared to increase operation capacity and competitiveness?
So far, the stable growth of Sao Nam flooring brand in the current context of crisis is thanks to good quality, competitive price and especially the reputation which is always its first priority. These are reflected through activities and serving styles of Sao Nam toward partners and customers.
On the other hand, Sao Nam has experienced staffs who can quite quickly acquire new technologies. Such people have contributed to the success and reputation of Sao Nam. Especially, the company’s sale forces are known for their enthusiasm, responsiveness and professional style. Upon the customers’ request, the company is willing to provide consulting service at no charge.
In coming time, Sao Nam will actively expand production, invest in modern production line and emphasize on training of highly qualified human resources to promote and best exploit new technologies and equipment.
Being a successful businesswoman, what do you think about the marriage and concept of equality in a modern family?
Being an Asian woman, I think that marriage and family will create a balance for its members to overcome work stress and pressure. However, it must be a marriage of true love and sympathy. Family is the peaceful home where there is moral support and sadness-happiness sharing among members and the woman has the granted role of “flame holder” both literally and figuratively. It has always been great for me when coming back home. From the very beginning of family life, I have appreciated the equality among members. In my opinion, an equal family is where all the members respect opinions, hobbies, and abilities of others as well as regularly share works with others. It is respect and sharing that make up a harmonious and equal family life.
