Vietnam Steel Corp. said that the price of steel ingot will fluctuate within a narrow band from US$400 to US$420 per tonne from now to the year-end while the price of finished construction steel will range from VND7.5 million to VND7.9 million per tonne on the local market. With 210,000 tonnes of construction steel being stockpiled and 160,000 tonnes of steel ingot and import contracts for steel ingot, Vietnam Steel Corp. expects to meet domestic steel demand by the end of this year.
According to the Domestic Market Management Team, local trade in September was vivacious with a variety of commodities, no price fevers and plenty of goods available to market. Total retail sales of goods and services in September were estimated at around VND32.412 trillion, up 1.7 per cent on-month, bringing total turnover in the first nine months of this year to over VND274 trillion, up 18.3 per cent on-year.
