Wholly South Korean-invested SH - VINA Cable Co., Ltd is effectively operating in Vietnam with the main business lines of manufacturing and supplying civil electric cables and low-voltage cables used for construction, civil and industrial purposes.
With modern technological lines in combination with professional management of the Board of Directors and South Korean experts, SH - VINA has asserted its prestige through high quality, services environmentally friendly, competitive electric cables in Vietnam.
After getting operation licence in October 2004, SH - VINA, with a total initial investment capital of US$5.3 million, officially went into operation in Khai Quang Industrial Park, Vinh Phuc province in 2006. Initial products were electric wires and telecom cables, mainly for the domestic market. To meet the growing demand of electricity market, in 2009, SH - VINA invested an additional US$1.2 million in low-voltage cable production lines, bringing its total investment to US$6.5 million (both new and renovated technologies). New upgrading has enabled the company to shorten and optimise production and reduce costs to boost up productivity and diversify products for the market.
The quality of products and services is a prerequisite for SH - VINA to approach and conquer customers in Vietnam, South Korea and ASEAN countries. Any SH - VINA product is the crystallisation of research and testing processes aimed at ensuring quality, durability and safety. The company’s products have superior advantages like sufficient, non-oxidised, durable conductors insulated by materials meticulously tested. Its slow-burning cables and fire-proof cables are perfect for underground or in-wall use.
All SH - VINA-branded wires and cables feature "good electrical conductivity - good electrical insulation - power saving" and meet Vietnamese and international standards like IEC and ASTM and Korean standard, KSC, certified by the South Korea Standard Committee. Moreover, SH-VINA products and services are guaranteed by the ISO 9001 -2008 international quality management system.
Anticipating economic difficulties in 2009, CEO Lee Jong Gun decided to reshuffle personnel to match the new situation, train and develop key personnel to boost up activeness and flexibility in production and business activities. Product quality and brand reputation of SH - VINA cables are uplifted on both domestic and international markets.
Taking the product quality as the foundation for the existence and development, powered by its sound policies, SH - VINA has made long strides. Revenues increased from VND62 billion in 2006 to VND165 billion in 2011, representing an average annual growth of 15 per cent. This progress is the result of correct directions, determinations of the leadership and employees.
In 2013, SH - VINA continues expanding export markets and performing R&D activities to create new products to better serve the Vietnamese market, aiming to sell 50 per cent of products in the Vietnamese market and 50 per cent in foreign countries. Remarking on the Vietnamese market, CEO Lee Jong Gun said Vietnam is a potential wire and cable market. With abundant labour resources and the presence of many foreign investors, this will be a big market for business development. I consider Vietnam as my second country. At SH - VINA, we build a corporate culture imbued with Vietnamese and Korean identities to create a dynamic and cohesive working environment - a fundamental foundation for SH - VINA to reach stable and sustainable development.
