Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the first nine months of the year expanded by 7.4 per cent against the same period in 2003 to VND492.4 trillion (US$31.3 billion), higher than the on-year growth of 7.1 per cent in January–September last year.
The value of the industry and construction sector in the first nine months went up by 10.1 per cent on-year, totalling VND201.65 trillion (US$11.1 billion). The figure accounts for 40.9 per cent of total GDP.
The agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors reached a growth of 2.9 per cent with total value of VND102.7 trillion (US$6.54 billion), accounting for 20.9 per cent of the total.
