Applying IT – A Breakthrough for Businesses in Mekong Delta

The eighth conference on information technology (IT) with the theme of ‘Vietnam IT Development Cooperation’ was recently held in Rach Gia Town, southern Kien Giang province.

The Mekong Delta is a key food production region in Vietnam and requires rapid development in science and technology, especially bio-technology and information technology. The two-day seminar focused on the application of IT in management, aquaculture, and related business activities.

Mai Liem Truc, Minister for Post and Telecommunications, said: “The ministry was trying to improve the quality of Internet services and reduce costs to better serve IT applications in line with the Political Bureau’s Resolution 58 on IT application and development. The conference created a new momentum for economic development in the Mekong Delta in general and Kien Giang in particular.”
