Third Hawaii MBA Training Course Commences
The third Hawaii MBA training course commenced at the Hanoi School of Business, Hanoi National University on September 3. Forty two trainees, who are senior managers of State-owned enterprises, joint ventures, 100 per cent foreign-invested companies and private enterprises, including a deputy general director of the Vietnam Auditing Company, a deputy general director of the FPT Communication Company, a vice president of the Netde Corporation, and the director of Ratraco, are attending the course.
The Hawaii MBA is a training programme conducted in conjunction with the University of Hawaii, possessing many of the best features among existing training programmes in Vietnam. These include its ties with a world leading university, tough entry requirements for students, a training programme of the highest standard and the best resources for its students, with the latest audio and video equipment, and an excellent online library. The Business School of the University of Hawaii ranks amongst the top five in the world for its information technology research works, top 20 for its international MBA training programme (according to the US News and World Reports) and top five for its’ research works on Asia. Candidates for the programme must be university graduates with at least two to three years’ professional experience and also hold GMAT and TOEFL international certificates of at least 500 points. The GMAT certificate can be replaced with a two-round interview with professors from the University of Hawaii to test candidates’ foreign language skills and management experience
The programme will be held in Hanoi over 22 months, comprising 16 subjects lectured by professors from the University of Hawaii. An MBA from the University of Hawaii is recognised by AACSB, as it meets the highest standards of business schools around the world. Students may elect to study at the University of Hawaii in Manoa for their final term.
Pham Long Tran, general director of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Corporation (VNPT), who was a student of the second training course, said that he highly appreciated the knowledge and insights gained from the course, as well as the assistance of professors, fellow students and past graduates who helped him with precious ideas which he could go on to apply at VNPT.
